A star in the making : ))

Last Sunday at Church, Laney's choir class sang a beautiful song during the service. This is the first time that Laney's sang with them since we haven't lived here long. They've been practicing every Wednesday night for about a month. I wasn't sure how she would do because when she came home I would ask her to practice the song and she'd just sing a couple verses then say she didn't want to sing anymore. Boy, did I get a surprise!!!! She did amazing. She knew every word and they even signed as they were singing the song. I was so proud of her...I even teared up a few times : ) She is growing up WAY TOO FAST!!She was so excited to go to Church this week and start learning their next song!!

Trick-or-Treating with my lovies :)

I can't believe we just celebrated Halloween. Before ya know it, Christmas will be here (which I can't wait for) Usually I pick out the kids costumes or make them but this year we let the kids pick what they wanted to be for Halloween. Laney chose a pirate. I was surprised because for the longest time she kept telling us she wanted to be Ariel. Grason finally decided to be a cowboy. One day he wanted to be Buzz, then Spiderman, then Superman but I'm really glad he went with a cowboy. It fit him perfectly. First we attended the carnival at our church and then trick or treated at some houses with our good friends. The kids got tons of candy. There were lots of games and goodies at the carnival. Laney, who thinks she is 5 going on 13 was ready to leave the carnival because she said all the games were for "babies" haha.
.....and here they are

After people would put candy in Grason's bucket, he'd take his hat off and say "Yee Haw"

Fall Family Project

Laney's class brought home a family project for October. They had to use a pumpkin and make it look like their favorite book character. Laney, of course, chose Goldilocks. We've read this book to her several times before but at the beginning of the school year the teacher read it to the class and the next day they acted it out. She got to be Goldilocks, so I think that's why it's her favorite book now :) We had so much fun decorating the pumpkins and I really enjoyed seeing all the pumpkins her classmates brought as well. Their are some very creative kiddos in that kindergarten class.
 She was very proud!!

and we had to add the three bears on each side of the pumpkin

I've been crazy busy with school lately so I decided to take a break (much needed) and we took the kids to the park one evening. It was nice getting out and letting the kids "go wild"

I heart FALL

We had such a fun weekend with the kids. Fall is my favorite season and we took full advantage to this beautiful whether we are having. Saturday morning Josh went hunting with some friends so when he got home I went shopping and had some "me" time. I'm so blessed to have such an amazing husband and father. Sunday after church we painted pumpkins. The kids got VERY messy :) After baths, we all decided to take a little nap. After we all woke up we took the kids out shooting. They loved it!!!

Growin' on up :)

A few weeks ago my first born finally learned how to ride her bike without training wheels. Santa brought her a new "big girl" bike for Christmas but we were so busy during the summer that we weren't able to practice much. Now that she's a pro, that's all she wants to do. Everyday when she gets home from school she says "can I go ask Katie (Laney's friend that lives across the street) to ride bikes?" I love that she's growing up and having so much fun but I'm a little sad that she doesn't need our help much anymore : (

Kindergarten RoCkS!!!

Today was filled with nervousness and anxiety. It marks a big milestone for Miss Laney Grace. She started Kindergarten...in a new school. We have been gearing up for this day for several weeks now. Buying school supplies, school clothes shopping, haircut, and of course a mani and pedi for the little Diva. She woke up excited and ready to go. I woke up excited and somewhat ready to go. Very excited for all of the new and fun experiences she will have. As I was doing her hair this morning she asks, “What if they don’t like me?" "What if they make fun of me?” What if they don't want to be my friend?" Wow, all of these questions coming from a 5 year old! A 5 year old that never meets a stranger and calls everyone her best friend :) I told her to be herself and everyone can't help but love her!! We all loaded up and headed to her new school! Daddy and I kissed her in the doorway and she walked in like a champ! I admire how independent and brave she's always been! As I walked away I was trying to fight back that tear that was about to drop any second. I had to dry it up though, I had to make a quick stop at the principals office :) I couldn't wait to pick her up!! When she walked out of her class she was smiling from ear to ear!! I could already tell she loved it! When we were talking about all the activities and things she did today she said "Momma, can I go back there tomorrow?" Haha!! I hope she keeps  up the same level of excitement for all 12 years!!

Where has the time gone?!? This girl is growing up way too fast!!

She's obsessed with peace signs

...and of course brother had to take a picture with his big sis :)

I'm a blogger :)

Okay....bear with me! I'm new at this and not really sure what I'm doing! I'll figure it out...just gotta play around with it! I have tons of news to post but for now I'll just settle for a quick "Hello all!" Until next time :)
